WHY DO PEOPLE FAIL IN JOB INTERVIEWS?

01.

You didn’t research the job and company very much

Employers want to hire someone who’s thorough and hard-working; no matter what job you’re interviewing for. And the first way to show them you work hard and don’t cut corners is by walking into the interview knowing about their job and company. Try to know more than anyone else they’ve interviewed. Study the job description and make note of the key responsibilities. Research the company, too.

02.

Not preparing for the interview

While confidence is good – thinking that you are well prepared for Interviews, but not preparing yourself as per the company’s culture or specifications mentioned in the Job Description will land you back to square one. Hence no matter how well you have prepared beforehand, always go through the company’s profile, Job Description, and Resume and prepare for the Interview a day before your actual interview is.

03.

Your body language or appearance wasn’t great

People judge each other visually before anything else. Within a fraction of a second, the hiring manager is gathering their first impression by looking at your facial expression and body language.

So, it’s worth dressing well for your interviews and making sure you have confident body language throughout the interview.

Practice having good posture – both sitting down and walking/standing.

04.

Not selling yourself

Being too modest isn’t the best interview tactic. The interviewer actually expects you to show off your previous contributions and accomplishments. Otherwise, they’ll assume that you haven’t done anything impressive or significant. On the other hand, avoid meaningless bragging like “I was the best software engineer in my previous company
